PRELIMINARY ROAD ANALYSIS
UPDATED FEB 12 2020
6 year reconstruction plan
Through budget surpluses including road funds, and financing available to municipalities the 22.9 miles within the Proposed Boundaries currently rated poor or fair would be brought to good condition by the 6th year of self-rule.
Reconstructing nearly 2 miles of currently surveyed poor roads (see Current Road Conditions Below), overlaying nearly 2 miles of currently fair roads each year through the 5th year will require a $10.9m 20-year bond.
Accounting for subsequent maintenance (chip seals 7 years and 15 years after reconstruction or overlay then overlay after 20 years), forecast budget surpluses will have sufficient reserves for full bond repayment in year 20 (2042) (see Draft Budget for forecast assumptions used for year 5-20).

6 YEAR RECONSTRUCTION BUDGETING
Boulder County currently partially maintains all roads within the Proposed Boundary (pothole repair and crack sealing). Boulder County performs major repairs (reconstruction, overlay and chip sealing) on designated connector roads and townsite roads, see map below.
Committees are currently in place working on road improvement budgets, timelines and solutions. Input and assistance from the community is welcome.
